In four movements. With a program note. Dedicated to Aaron Copland. This is the first edition of this work, which was premiered in 1937 by the WPA Ensemble in New York. Diamond was unhappy with the premiere and shelved the music until Gbur was able to get a hold of it in the 1990s.
Commissioned by the Aaron Diamond Foundation for the 1988 New York Int'l Festival of the Arts. Composed in 1987.
