In three movements. Francaix created this adaptation in 1995 for the Octeur de France. This work was originally composed for piano and winds; in this arrangement the piano part has been adapated for string quintet. Duration ca. 25 minutes.

The Danish quintet performs music by Poulenc, Ibert, Milhaud and Francaix. They are joined by pianist Ralf Gothoni.
On texts by Villon, La Fontaine and Aristophanes (1991). Piano reduction by the composer. Premiered in September 1992 by the Ensemble Villa Musica, with Julie Kaufmann soprano and Jean-Francois Gardeil, baritone. Instrumentation provided. Duration: approx. 20 minutes.
