This is one of Bacewicz's most famous and performed works. A neoclassical work with a three movement form which draws upon the Baroque and early Classical periods. With an introduction by Malgorzata Gasiorowska. Duration ca. 15 minutes. Also part of the PWM boxed set of 20th c. music.
Edited by Mariusz Pedzialek. This piece, composed early in Bacewicz's career, is expressed in a fairly typical Classical sonata form. It was premiered in March 1937. This is the first published edition of the work, and is based on a manuscript score and oboe part. With a foreword.
