This disc features pianist Frederick Moyer. For the MacDowell, the orchestra (Plovdiv Philharmonic) was recorded first, and the piano part added later. For the Schumann, Dan Kury created a track made up of computers, a MIDI keyboard, and sampled sounds.

SACD remasters of classic recordings by two great pianists. Haskil is heard in recital in 1953, and Lipatti is featured in a 1948 recording of Bartok's Piano Concerto No. 3 with the Südwestfunk-Sinfonieorchester, conducted by Paul Sacher.

A concerto in three movements. This work was composed between 1833 and 1834. The premiere was conducted by Felix Mendelssohn in 1835. This edition includes a reprint of a version for two pianos, and a CD featuring pianist Frederick Moyer.
